The biggest argument for me for not eating meat is my belief that all living beings (animals) have a soul and as much right to live as humans. It is not so much about taste more about animal suffering and making conscious decisions on what you eat and where it comes from. The fake meat option is interesting but I would if it will introduce new problems with the proteins and chemicals involved in it's make ?

That’s an interesting point! I think one of the arguments for lab-grown meat tends to be that animals aren’t harmed. However this isn’t entirely true - the process of growing the meat involves using fetal bovine serum (FBS), which is taken from the foetuses of pregnant cows during the slaughter process. This article mentions that technology is being developed to remove FBS from this process to address this issue - https://sifted.eu/articles/mosa-meat-fbs-lab-grown-meat/

In terms of potential problems, I agree the additives could potentially have unintended consequences. It’s not quite the same, but other food substitutes have been produced with new compounds (e.g. fake sugars like aspartame found in diet drinks) and we aren’t sure of the impact they have on our health.
